The Best Wedding Venues in North Carolina
Are you ready for some Insta worthy wedding venues in North Carolina? Grab a Cheerwine and an Apple Ugly and get ready for some PRETTY! I’ve listed a range of venues, from barn venues, to cotton mills, to the largest home in America. There are all sorts of hidden gems in North Carolina, you just have to know where to find them. Or maybe you don’t because I’ve listed them all here for you! Thank me later!
1. Overlook Barn in Banner Elk, NC
This is barn venue is at the top of Beech Mountain (typically known for skiing.) Overlook has 2 barn event spaces. Overlook is the main barn, with over 6,500 sqft of space and romantic market lights over head, you’ll def have a poppin dance floor! Overlook also has a beautiful neutral, natural light, getting ready space. You don’t know how much that means to me as a photographer! They also have a second barn on the property, The Cliff Side Barn. No market lights for this barn just a huge stunning chandelier and gorgeous views. Here’s more from Daniel and Ryan’s Wedding.
2. Wrightsville Manor and Gardens in Wilmington, NC
This venue is a dream! JUST CLICK THE LINK!!! 3,000 sq-ft event space, exposed bricks, gorgeous chandeliers - What more could you ask for? Oh, that’s not enough? What about the ancient oaks and garden fountains. Wrightsville Manor also has a stunning bridal suite for flawless getting ready photos.
3. Burgwin Wright House and Gardens in Wilmington, NC
The Burgwin-Wright House is a little piece of history. Originally built in 1770, it’s the only structure in Wilmington built from the colonial era still open to the public. Besides the beautiful white porches, it also has an acre of gardens. Wait until you see the back of the house, beautiful stone arch ways, more stunning porches and loads of roses. It’s also located just a few blocks from the river in Wilmington. Make sure to grab a slice of pizza from The Slice Of Life when touring this venue.
4. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Charlotte, NC
Daniel Stowe is an outrageously beautiful venue. If you decide not to book it as your venue, you at least need to go visit. The orchid conservatory is PURE MAGIC! Not to mention the other 380 areas of gardens, fountains, pergolas, etc. Want to see more? Check out Bre and Caleb’s session.
5. The Watson House and Gardens in Emerald Isle, NC
A 20 year old estate right on the waters of Emerald Isle. It includes 7 acres of lush gardens, outdoor fire places, chandeliers, fountain ponds WITH SWANS!!! And seriously so much more.
6. The Providence Cotton Mill in Maiden, NC
The Providence Cotton Mill has 30ft tall ceilings, beautiful huge arched windows that stream in so much light, exposed brick and is surrounded by beautiful lawns.
7. Graylyn Estates in Winston Salem, NC
Want to feel like a princess? The Stone Gazebo is a favorite as far as ceremony locations go. It’s surrounded by white blooming flowers. The Rose garden is a second ceremony option. They also have french inspired Living and Dining room wing’s for reception/dinner portion of your day.
8. The Cotton Room in Durham, NC
The floor to ceiling windows at The Cotton Room will have you convinced that this is the spot to say “I DO!’ The building was built in 1887 and was originally a tobacco production and textile facility. It includes white arched windows, exposed brick, tall ceilings, and exposed wood beams.
9. The Henry Connor Bost House in Salisbury, NC
This white farm house was built directly after the civil war. It features 135 acres of beautiful property. A perfect little red barn or grassy fields for your ceremony. Then after head to your reception right off the grand white porches under a huge oak tree. The bride gets ready in the two story main farm house and there is a small groom’s cottage just down a dirt road, all located on the same property.
10. The Duke Mansion in Charlotte, NC
The Duke Mansion is one of my favorites. It’s located just 2 miles from Charlottes’s city center on over 4 acres of gardens and grounds. This historic location will not only host your wedding, they’ll host your guests as well. It’s also a bed and breakfast and features over 20 rooms.
11. The Biltmore in Asheville, NC
The Biltmore Estate also known as America’s Largest Home is located on 8,000 acres nestled in the mountains of Asheville. You can’t pick a wrong time to get married here with it’s wide variety of blooms all year round. The Conservatory is a site to see all on its own. This venue will add so much regality to your wedding. Make sure to hit up Antler Hill Winery when you tour this stunning venue.
