When Lindsay asked me to be their wedding photographer I was so honored. I met Lindsay in high school and have known her for a long time. I met Drew at their engagement session and heard all the stories of how they met. Their engagement session was lit! You definitely need to check it out. They had a gorgeous November wedding at River Landing in Wallace, NC. It did rain most of the day but cleared up right after the ceremony in time for some bride and groom portraits.
These two met after college through mutual friends. They had their first date at a Garth Brooks Concert. Sheesh, that is too cute! Just wait, it gets cuter. After the concert they wanted to grab dinner but nothing was open so they grabbed some food from Sheetz. What is a Sheetz you might ask? A gas station with all the bells and whistles. Now these two cuties grab dinner at Sheetz every anniversary. You can really tell these two feel at home when they’re together. I know Lindsay was most nervous to see Drew coming down the aisle but she said once she saw him all her nerves just floated away. She felt completely relaxed the rest of the ceremony.
Gosh, I can totally relate to that. I hate being in front of large groups of people and being the center of attention. I remember being so nervous on my wedding day moments before walking down the aisle I could have jumped out of my dress. As soon as I locked eyes with my husband Eddie it was like tunnel vision. He was all I saw.
The first things they picked out were the colors. Lindsay wanted brass, dusty rose, dusty blue and navy. After that flowers were the most important detail to her so she got with Cheryl’s Floral Designs and picked out brass center pieces for the reception filled with beautiful roses, dahlias and greenery. They complimented those with velvet table linens and gold chivarri chairs which looked so amazing in that ballroom. The ceremony had lots of white hydrangeas along the center aisle and beautiful garland at the alter with magnolias, magenta hanging amaranthus, burgundy grevilia, and purple dahlias.
When planning their looks Drew had been in a lot of bridal parties, wearing a lot of navy suits, so he knew he wanted something different. He chose a brown tweed jacket with a navy window pane that matched the bridesmaids dressed perfectly. Lindsay had two looks. Her main dress was the second dress she had ever tried on and nothing quite compared to it. She chose a lace dress with a sweetheart neckline and a beautiful train. Her reception dress was long sleeved and backless which looked stunning during their first dance.
Enjoy the day! All the planning and hard work is gone in the blink of an eye and anything that goes wrong will more than likely not be noticed by anyone other than you. Take a moment to take everything in with your hubby!
