I met Sarah and Ricky because they won a free engagement session with me last summer. We shot that in Mooresville, NC at Ramsey Creek Park. As they were telling me about the details of their day they left out a few things… like what a fun big family they have. Everyone got ready to together in one giant beach house so they must really love each other. Also, not only did Sarah have a twin brother but both of her brothers are in the Marines. They were all super proud of that and it was beautiful to see. Sarah’s brother Ben came in for her wedding just for the weekend. Sarah’s mom was so fun, sweet, and helpful! She immediately began grabbing details for me to photograph. Ricky’s mom used to be a florist so she also helped pin Ricky’s great grandmother’s pearl necklace to the bouquet.
It made my photographer heart sing when I saw how emotional everyone got when the ceremony began. Ricky could barely turn to look to see Sarah coming down the aisle. I’ve been doing this for a long time now and I cherish and adore every emotional groom I get!
Um, can we talk about the food at the reception? Sarah and Ricky had a pasta bar. The pasta was made to order. Oh my gosh! YUM! After dinner we made it out just in time for a beautiful pink sunset. I love it when my couples take my advice and go back out for that sunset light. Even if it’s just for 5 minutes. The night ended with a lit dance floor and some fun sparklers.
I know this sweet couple had an amazing time in Jamaica. I hope it was as beautiful as they are.
