Josh and Josie had their small wedding at the Oaks Venue, a new venue in Salisbury, NC. They originally had planned for their wedding to take place at a new venue in Highpoint but because of Covid, Josh and Josie had to change their wedding completely. They went ahead and kept their wedding date, moved it to Salisbury, and kept family in the loop through social media. The sweet couple also made the rest of their guests aware that they would be having a reception at a later date and that hopefully everyone would be able to attend then.
The weather was out of this world gorgeous! Josie expected for it to be a bit chilly as it was still March but NC weather never disappoints. We were all sweating. Petals Floral & Decor came in clutch with lots of blooms, and covered the ceremony site in flowers. It was so stunning. The Oaks is such a unique venue and covering it in beautiful flowers made it even more gorgeous. Josie picked ivory, sage, and slate blue for her colors. Those colors were perfect for spring. It was a pastel dream.
Even though they planned to do their reception on a different day, they decided to do a quick first dance after their first kiss and also do a cake cutting. They also drove away in Josie’s Dad’s beautiful red mustang!
BE READY FOR THINGS TO NOT GO AS PLANNED AND BE OKAY WITH IT. I spent so much time worrying about making sure everything was going to be perfect that I was devastated when plans began to fall apart when the virus hit. I quickly had to make changes and replan my entire wedding. A lot of guests that I had really hoped had been there were unable to make it.
